Real Madrid have secured three wins in three games in the league so far this season. The LaLiga giants have scored six goals and conceded just one.
Meanwhile, Los Blancos were willing to offload a Brazilian forward for 120m in the recently concluded transfer window. Elsewhere, Dani Ceballos could still leave the Santiago Bernabeu amid interest from Turkey.
On that note, let's look at the major Real Madrid transfer stories from September 4, 2025.
Real Madrid had set €120m price tag on Rodrygo Goes this summer
Real Madrid wanted €120m to part ways with Rodrygo Goes this summer, according to acclaimed journalist Fabrizio Romano. The Brazilian's future was subject to speculation throughout the transfer window after dropping down the pecking order in recent months.
Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal were named as possible destinations for Rodrygo. Romano has now stated that the 24-year-old was discussed behind the scenes at the Etihad.
However, City opted against submitting an official offer for Rodrygo. Meanwhile, Real Madrid were not too keen to offload the player either, and reportedly set a very high price tag on his head.
Dani Ceballos wanted in Turkey
Clubs from Turkey are planning to make a move for Dani Ceballos in the coming days, according to Defensa Central. The Spanish midfielder is a forgotten man at Real Madrid, and has been struggling for first team opportunities for a while.
Ceballos' situation hasn't improved since Xabi Alonso took charge of Los Blancos at the end of May this year. It is believed that the LaLiga giants were ready to let him go this summer, but the move never materialized.
With the transfer market in Turkey still open until September 12, the 29-year-old is reportedly generating interest in the country. However, Real Madrid may no longer be open to his exit as they cannot sign a replacement.
Kylian Mbappe always wanted Los Blancos move, says Mauricio Pochettino
Former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that Kylian Mbappe always wanted a move to the Santiago Bernabeu. The French superstar was linked with Real Madrid for ages before he finally joined as a free agent in the summer of 2024.
Speaking to El Chiringuito TV, Pochettino said that Mbappe's eyes used to lit up at the mention of the LaLiga giants.
“It was a difficult time for Kylian because, as a child, he always dreamed of playing for Madrid. I knew that because my relationship with Kylian is very good. For me, he’s a great guy, but going after your dream meant breaking a promise or going back on your word,” said Pochettino.
He continued:
“It wasn’t easy. I couldn’t go against my interests. I was the coach of PSG, but at the same time, you see a kid whose eyes light up for another club. That’s always very difficult. I always had the same conversation with him, and I was loyal to my club and my values. In the end, he stayed in Paris as long as I did, and then he fulfilled his dream.”
Mbappe enjoyed a stunning debut campaign with Real Madrid, finishing with 44 goals from 59 games.
