Manchester United stuttered to a 1-1 draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday, August 24, in the Premier League. Ruben Amorim made just one change to the starting XI that suffered a narrow defeat to Arsenal last weekend.

Amad Diallo replaced Diogo Dalot at right wing-back, while Benjamin Sesko remained on the bench for the second game in a row. The Slovenian striker arrived at Old Trafford this summer from RB Leipzig.

The Red Devils started the game well, and were awarded a penalty after Calvin Bassey was penalized by VAR for bringing down Mason Mount in the box. Bruno Fernandes, however, sent the ball into the stands.

Manchester United did go ahead in the second half after Leny Yoro's header was deflected into the back of the net off Rodrigo Muniz. However, their lead didn't last long, with Emile Smith Rowe equalizing for the home side in the 73rd minute.

Here are the five talking points from the game:

Manchester United need a new goalkeeper

Manchester United have been linked with reinforcements for the goalkeeper position all summer and it is easy to see why. Andre Onana has failed to impress, and his deputy, Altay Bayindir, has already shown in the first two games of the new season why he may not be the answer.

The Turkish custodian was at fault for Riccardo Calafiori's goal in the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal. While he appeared to redeem himself with a stunning save at the start of the Fulham game, Bayindir looked nervous at set pieces once again.

He almost set up Matheus Cunha with a brilliant chance, but the 27-year-old's lack of box presence could be an Achilles heel for the Red Devils. Recent reports, however, have suggested that Manchester United are close to signing talented young goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp this summer.

Leny Yoro has another fruitful outing

Manchester United managed a coup last summer by convincing Leny Yoro to turn down Real Madrid in favour of a move to Old Trafford. The 19-year-old has been immense for Ruben Amorim's team this season, and didn't put a foot wrong against Fulham.

Yoro played a part in Rodrigo Muniz's own goal, while he also unleashed a brilliant last ditch tackle to prevent Josh King from breaking free. The Frenchman won 100% of his tackles, and 100% of his ground duels, while also managing an 88% pass accuracy.

Amad and Diogo Dalot both struggled at right wing-back

Amad came off the bench to replace Diogo Dalot against Arsenal and gave Manchester United a new edge in attack. The Ivorian was subsequently selected ahead of the Portuguese against Fulham, but had an off day.

Ruben Amorim has used Amad is an unorthodox right wing-back role, and it would appear that the player isn't entirely suited for the job. Dalot did come on in the second half, but was hardly an improvement. Should Amorim continue to stick to his 3-4-3 formation, the right wing-back area could require special attention.

Matheus Cunha already looks a superb addition to Manchester United's squad

Manchester United broke the bank to sign Matheus Cunha this summer, and he has already shown that he can be worth every penny. The Brazilian enjoyed an impressive debut against Arsenal, and should have scored a brace in the opening 15 minutes against Fulham.

Cunha hit the upright early in the game, and also had a couple of good chance to score. While he hasn't found the back of the net yet, the 26-year-old's presence has already given Ruben Amorim's team an extra edge. Once he fully settles down, Cunha is bound to get even better and ease the creative burden on Bruno Fernandes.

Bryan Mbeumo needs to be more involved

Bryan Mbeumo was outstanding for Manchester United against Arsenal and constantly caused them problems. The Red Devils went through a lot of trouble to sign the Cameroonian and his debut gave fans a lot of hope.

Unfortunately, Mbeumo was an isolated figure against Fulham this weekend. Manchester United didn't find him quick enough on the pitch, and the Cottagers ensured that he had very little space to run into.

There were also some concerns regarding his understanding with Amad on the final third. If the Red Devils are to excel this season, they have to ensure that the 26-year-old remains heavily involved.
