Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has showered praise on Ruben Amorim's squad. The Englishman has suffered with injuries in recent seasons, but is now back to full fitness.

There's an optimism around the Red Devils' team following an eventful summer. Despite finishing 15th in the Premier League last season, the Premier League giants were able to convince Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko to join their roster.

Manchester United have also offloaded Marcus Rashford, who joined Barcelona on loan. The likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, and Antony also remain linked with exits as Ruben Amorim aims to ignite a cultural reset at Old Trafford.

Speaking to the club's website, Shaw added that the club is a really happy place at the moment, both on and off the pitch.

"I've said it a lot to be honest and I've been here a long while now. I have been in a lot of different squads, but for me personally, I can only speak on my opinion. I think this is the best squad I've been involved in. It's not just on the pitch but also off the pitch. I think the environment's extremely important on what we create and [also] the atmosphere around the place," said Shaw.

He continued:

"It's a really happy place at the moment and credit to the new signings as well. They've definitely brought a lot of joy and happiness and of course for Matheus [Cunha], loudness in the squad. But, you know we welcome it with open arms and we're really happy with how things are in, like we call it, an environment, and at the moment it's good."

Luke Shaw started Manchester United's 1-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal last weekend.

How many games has Luke Shaw played for Manchester United in his career?

Luke Shaw arrived at Manchester United in the summer of 2014 from Southampton with a big reputation. Unfortunately, the 30-year-old endured a stop-start career at Old Trafford.

While there have never been any questions about Shaw's abilities, his fitness issues have stopped him from realizing his potential with the Red Devils. Now in his 12th season with the Premier League giants, the Englishman has managed 288 appearances to date, registering four goals and 29 assists. Shaw's contract with Manchester United expires in the summer of 2027, and he won the club's player of the year award in the 2018-19 season.
